Since 1988, the Denton tree lighting has been a holiday tradition at Historic Denton Square. Enjoy carriage rides, live performances and photos with Santa on November 30. Admission is free, but be sure to bring a gift to share the holiday cheer with those in need.

940’s knocked it out of the park with their Spring cocktails and continue to set the bar high with their new menu additions and new Happy Hour, featuring shared plate options, cocktail, and wine specials. You can settle down for some $5 libations every Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6:30pm and Sunday from 3pm to close that includes martinis, house wines, Watermelon Jalapeno Mule and the Black Cherry Basil Mule, the Smoked Sea Salt Paloma, and the Old Old Fashioned just to name a few. You can pair these cocktails with a plate from their Happy Hour $5 shareable plates featuring their out of this world Elotes, House made Beef/Pork blend Meatballs, fresh made Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, their ever popular Crushed Avocado Toast, savory Gouda Mac and Cheese, and the Chicken Satay with Peanut and Chili sauces.

Denton’s newest restaurant and bar on the downtown square has recently expanded its hours to include Saturday and Sunday brunch, a welcomed addition to little D’s weekend plans. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 940's Kitchen & Cocktails serves curious small plates, boards, main dishes and even a burger for those of us industrious enough to already be working on lunch that early.

Bar and restaurant 940’s establishes identity on Denton Square

A friendly, upscale bar-and-restaurant combination recently joined the plethora of local businesses around the Denton Square. Since its debut in Sept. of 2015, 940’s has striven to make its mark on the city, and so far, the business has been successful.

But the process of establishing their business wasn’t an easy one, according to UNT alumnus and band member Mckenzie Smith.
